An important pedagogical task is to create a comfortable, social and psychological environment in the sports team. Coordination of interpersonal relationships leads to successful cooperation on the playground and better sports results. Determination of the quality of interpersonal relationships, both in a group of people and in the sports team, is easiest by using a sociometric test. The objective of this study is to determinate relations in the volleyball team of younger age. Determine if there are players which, according to the choice of other teammates, have the ability to lead the team, which are sufficiently dominant for the role of the team captain. Sociometric measurement was performed on four female junior cadet volleyball teams from the Osijek-Baranja County, the respondents filled out a sociometric questionnaire. It was found that there was at least one dominant player on each team. The answers of the emotional type question and the answers of the functional type questions differ in the amount of mutual choices. The sociogram network in each question is different and it can be concluded that regardless of the age, players already at the younger cadet age can assess which of their teammates would be the best candidate for the team captain. Creating good social relationships within a young team, contributes to the progress of the team itself and throughout the years, if the team stays together, it would lead to stronger and more mature connections. Discovering the dominant players at younger age can also affect their development and the better success.
