This research will consist of analyzing final papers of university undergraduate Early childhood and preschool education in Osijek, Slavonski Brod, Zagreb and Čakovec of students who submitted final papers during 2018/19. By the method of working on documentation and by analyzing were used to investigate, observe and state the differences with regard to the frequency of research tools used in research as well as the domination of scientific paradigms along with other methodological characteristics. The objective of this research was to examine the methodological peculiarities, the representation of certain types of research and with the help of which data collection methods students research the most. All student, whose final papers are included in the analysis, conduct research in their final papers. By the method of working on documentation, collected data on final papers submitted during 2018/19. and showed that the most common method of data collecting is polling, which is in percentage is 50%, while qualitative methods of data collecting methods are used by 35% of students (interview, work on documentation, systematic observation). The presence of qualitative and quantitative research methods offers the possibility of a holistic approach to the research problem, empathic understanding and analysis with the help of which we can find out the reasons for some research results. The speed of research implementation, statistical data proccesing and lower involvement of researches in research are just some of the factors that make students opt for quantitative research sooner, while a small number of students decide to conduct qualitative research.
