Abstract
Šećerna bolest je skupina metaboličkih poremećaja karakteriziranih povišenom koncentracijom glukoze u krvi kao posljedicom nedostatnog lučenja inzulina, izostanka njegova djelovanja ili kombinacije tih dvaju mehanizama. Najčešći oblik šećerne bolesti kod djece i adolescenata je šećerna bolest tipa 1, no sve je veća i učestalost šećerne bolesti tipa 2 već u toj dobi. Osim tipa 1 i tipa 2 šećerne bolesti, postoji i gestacijski dijabetes koji nastaje ili se prvi puta uoči tijekom trudnoće. Faktori... More rizika za dobivanje šećerne bolesti su: prekomjerna težina, neaktivnost, nasljedni faktor, dob. Komplikacije koje se javljaju uz šećernu bolest su hipoglikemija i hiperglikemija. Makrovaskularne komplikacije najčešći su uzrok pobola i smrtnosti osoba sa šećernom bolesti te uvelike utječu na kvalitetu života i na cijenu liječenja. Individualnim pristupom bolesniku, te odgovarajućim inzulinskim liječenjem, postiže se zadovoljavajuća kontrola šećerne bolesti. Način prehrane također značajno utječe na regulaciju i tijek šećerne bolesti. Piramida zdrave prehrane osoba sa šećernom bolešću tek se neznatno razlikuje od uobičajene prehrambene piramide. Less
Abstract (english)
Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic disorders characterized by elevated glucose levels in blood as a result of insufficient insulin secretion, its lack of activity or a combination of these two mechanisms.The most common form of diabetes for children and adolescents is type 1 diabetes mellitus, but the frequency of type 2 diabetes is increasing already at that age. Risk factors for getting diabetes are overweight, lack of activity, heredity factor, age. Complications associated with diabetes are hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia. Macrovascular complications are the most common cause of morbidity and mortality of diabetes patients and greatly affect on the quality of life and the cost of treatment. Individual access to the patient and the appropriate insulin therapy is achieving satisfactory control of diabetes. Nutrition also has an influence on the regulation of the course of diabetes.
