Fear as an emotion plays a significant role in our lives. It belongs to emotions as well as joy, sadness, shame, anger, rage, passion, and love (Ennulat, 2010). If developmentally inappropriate, fear may have clinical significance (Poljak and Begić, 2016). Fear appears at an early age and can last for a very long time. This paper describes some of the most common fears in preschool children. In newborns, the most common fears are loud sounds, strangers, and separation fear. In children of a younger age group, the most common are fears of animals, fear of the dark, fear of doctors and fear of imaginary beings. Most of these fears in children last throughout preschool. Also, some of these fears are closely related and may contribute to the development of similar fears. Such as the fear of the dark affects the fear of imaginary beings, while the fear of doctors and disease causes the fear of death. Some fears leave negative consequences on a child's later life and can also appear in adulthood. The action of fear affects the child in emotional and physical form. A child who is in fear is deprived of love and security. It is extremely important to talk to children about their fears and provide them with support and comfort. In some cases, children suffering from chronic fears need professional help. We need to allow the child to express themselves freely about their fears and thus encourage them to face the fear.
