Dental injuries are accompanied by motor development when children start to explore their environment more actively. At first sight, injuries can be done harmless and simple, however, injuries to the milky teeth can also have serious consequences on the permanent heirs. Such successors can cause a poor mental condition of the child. Dental injuries usually occur in a home or kindergarten. Therefore, it is very important that parents and teachers know how to provide assistance to the child and how to optimally dispose of the injured tooth. After the injury has occurred, it is important to treat the child calmly, contact the dentist and take care of the child's oral hygiene, which should be strengthened. If the child has lost a tooth, it should be preserved and stored in milk until it reaches the dentist. The research conducted with 91 mothers of early and preschool children from the territory of the Republic of Croatia was intended to determine their knowledge of dental injuries and to obtain an insight into whether there is a need to raise awareness and educate about tooth health. The results show that mothers in moments of injuries are more driven by intuition than by real facts and knowledge in the field of dental medicine. The results suggest that it would not affect with parents of children of early and preschool age to carry out education on this topic.
