Today, due to the needs of modern society, an extended stay program is needed, the purpose of which is to take care of students of the lower grades of elementary school before or after regular classes. That way, students spend eight or nine hours at school, so we could say that extended stay is the place where students live. Due to their obligations, parents have less and less time for their children, and that is why the school offers them the opportunity to take care of their children. Students are under the guidance of a teacher whose work is specific within an educational institution, i.e. a school. Extended stay teachers have great opportunities, but also responsibilities in their work. In addition to taking care of writing homework with the students, they have the task of organizing and designing how they will spend their free time, and this depends above all on the creativity of the teacher. Creativity plays a big role in the educational process, and the teacher must create conditions that will encourage creativity in students. The aim of the research was: to investigate whether teachers of extended stay encourage creativity in students and in what ways and what challenges they face. The results of the research showed that the teachers of the extended stay have more freedom in creating the educational process and that they encourage creativity in students with various activities, workshops, games and participations in projects and contests. Also, the results of the research showed that the extended stay is not only a place where homework is written and children are looked after, but a place where students can more easily express themselves creatively due to a more relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
