Abstract
Diplomski rad istražuje sliku djeteta u Montessori pedagogiji, jednom od najutjecajnijih odgojno-obrazovnih pristupa 20. stoljeća. Montessori pedagogija temelji se na dubokom poštovanju djetetove individualnosti, slobodi izbora i stvaranju pripremljene okoline koja podržava cjeloviti razvoj djeteta. Kroz analizu temeljnih načela ove metode kojima se oblikuje slika o djetetu, kao što su poštovanje djeteta, samostalnost, sloboda i disciplina te pripremljena okolina, rad ističe važnost omogućavanja djeci da samostalno istražuju i uče vlastitim tempom. Pregledom relevantne literature i usporedbom s aktualnim Kurikulumom ranog i predškolskog odgoja u Republici Hrvatskoj pokazuje sličnosti i razlike između ova dva pristupa, pri čemu Montessori metoda nudi veću fleksibilnost i autonomiju. Zaključak rada upućuje kako Montessori pedagogija pruža vrijedne alate za cjeloviti razvoj djeteta, čineći je relevantnom i u suvremenom kontekstu.
Abstract (english)
The thesis explores the image of the child in Montessori pedagogy, one of the most influential educational approaches of the 20th century. Montessori pedagogy is based on deep respect for the child's individuality, freedom of choice, and the creation of a prepared environment that supports the holistic development of the child. Through the analysis of the core principles of this method, which shape the image of the child—such as respect for the child, independence, freedom and discipline, and the prepared environment—the paper highlights the importance of allowing children to explore and learn at their own pace. By reviewing relevant literature and comparing it with the current Early Childhood and Preschool Curriculum in the Republic of Croatia, it shows the similarities and differences between these two approaches, with the Montessori method offering greater flexibility and autonomy. The conclusion points out that Montessori pedagogy provides valuable tools for the holistic development of the child, making it relevant even in the contemporary context.
