Abstract
Predodžba Boga mijenjala se kroz povijest. U moderno vrijeme kada pojedinci imaju slobodu u svijetu opcija i životnih stilova ta predodžba postaje sve više subjektivna. Mnogi odbacuju iz svog osobnog stajališta uvjerenja koja su se prenosila putem tradicije i bila uspostavljena od strane raznih autoriteta, a upravo će oni izgubiti svoj utjecaj što će biti vidljivo u raznim područjima suvremenog života. Sekularizacijska se teza razvijala u europskom okviru kako se činilo da važnost religije u javnosti postupno slabi, a to se posebno odnosilo na vjersku praksu. Istraživanja koja su zabilježila pad religijskog vjerovanja pokrenula su lavinu rasprava među brojnim sociolozima i predstavnicima Crkve. O tome u kakvome se obliku religija krenula razvijati u modernom europskom društvu te hoće li ju taj smjer odvesti do njezina ukinuća ili nove uloge provlačit će se kao glavno pitanje u ovome radu.
Abstract (english)
The image of God has been changing through history. In modern times, when individuals have freedom in the world of options and lifestyles, that image becomes more and more subjective. Many reject beliefs that have been traditionally passed on and were established by various authorities. Precisely they will lose their influence, which will be evident in different areas of modern life. As it seemed that the importance of religion, especially of religious practice, weakened gradually, secularism started to develop in European circles. The research that noticed the downfall of religious beliefs started a series of discussions among numerous sociologists and Church representatives. This paper analyzes the forms of development of religion in modern European societies and discusses whether that development will lead religion to abolishment or merely ascribe it a different role.
