This work represents are the third –grade pupils able to grasp the deep meaning of the fable. Also it is explored what the reading habits of third grade pupils are. This work is composed of three parts. In the first part, fable is presented on a theoretical level. It is described the historical development of fables in the world and in Croatia. There are written some of the literary characteristics of fables and how to approach the interpretation lesson of fable. Fable has its place in the curriculum so it is more particularly described what educational attainment are achieved with fables. The second part is devoted to analysis of data that were explored with research. At the beginning, there is described what research problem is: preschool and school reading habits, pupil reception of fables and pupils opinion about the project We all read, everyone in the family. I analyzed the pupils answers and they are presented in tables and graphs. The third part contains a review of three school hours of interpretation lesson of fable. Lessons are held in the elementary school in Darda. All activities that were used in those lessons, teaching methods and forms of work and emotions that these pupils had during these school hours are describe in details. In the end of this work, there is a conclusion, written as a review on this whole work.
