Developing children's ecological sensitivity in educational institutions is a long and complex process whose understanding and further development implies environmental activities. This refers to the specific content of educational efforts which are in accordance with children's interests and encourages development of ecological sensitivity. The goal of environmental education in preschool institutions is actively involved in the child's processes of perceiving, knowing and valuing the environment and all its factors, interactions and dependencies. In this educational process the child will develop the skills necessary for understanding the man-environment dependencies and develop effective strategies for the critical reception of information and communication in the environment. Therefore, objective of this paper is to examine the involvement of children and educators themselves in the process of developing environmental activities through eco content, eco communication and eco attitudes. Readiness for implementation of environmental activities and facilities has been examined in this research paper, which involved 101 educators from counties of Osječko-baranjska and Vukovarsko-srijemska. The survey was conducted by an anonymous questionnaire which consisted of 30 Likert statements. The results showed that in accordance with knowledge of the concepts of sustainable development and education a large number of educators agree that the nursery, alongside the family home, is an institution that promotes ecological sensitivity. Thus a large number of them apply different content and methods in their work in order to achieve further progress.
