Abstract
Darovita djeca su djeca sa posebnim odgojno-obrazovnim potrebama. Darovitost podrazumijeva sklop osobina koje omogućuju pojedincu da dosljedno postiže izrazito iznad prosječan uradak u jednoj ili više aktivnosti kojima se bavi. Postoje mnogi teorijski pristupi koji nastoje objasniti fenomen darovitosti, a iz toga proizlazi i mnoštvo definicija darovitosti. Za pojavu darovitosti važni su genetski činitelji, odnosno nasljeđe, ali također i okolinski utjecaji. Identifikacija darovitosti je prvi korak ka uspješnijoj prilagodbi darovitog djeteta okolini u kojoj živi, osiguravanju zadovoljavanja posebnih potreba darovitog djeteta od strane odraslih, ali važan je korak i za roditelje, ali i odgojitelje koji s darovitim djetetom rade u odgojnim skupinama. Darovita djeca zahtijevaju poseban odgojno-obrazovni tretman koji je uvjetovan sklopom osobina koje darovitog pojedinca karakteriziraju. Stoga je nužno osigurati im uvjete u kojima će moći zadovoljiti svoje posebne odgojno-obrazovne potrebe, ali važno je da darovito dijete ima kompetentnog odgojitelja koji će stvoriti razvojno primjeren program i osigurati potrebne uvjete za prilagodbu i napredovanje darovitog djeteta.
Abstract (english)
Talented children are the children with special educational needs. Talent is a set of personality traits enabling an individual to constantly achieve over-average results in one of more activities they do. There are numerous theoretical approaches trying to explain the phenomenon of talented children, thus providing a number of definitions. In order for talent to occur there are genetic factors i.e. heritage and environmental factors to be considered. The identification of the talented child is the first step to succeed in their adaptation to the environment and providing for special needs by adults, but it is also an important step for the parents and the educators working with the talented child in various educational groups. Talented children require a special educational treatment determined by the set of personality traits characteristic for each talented individual. Therefore it is necessary to ensure the fulfilment of their special education needs and find a competent educator who will create a programme appropriate to their developmental level and make sure the talented child can properly adapt and progress.
