The aim of the master thesis Noun diminutives in the publications of Sanja Pilić is to look into and analyze diminutives in five selected publications by Sanja Pilić, determine their quantity, method of word formation, and the connotative meaning they carry. As Sanja Pilić's books are intended for children and young adults, children's linguistic development, Sanja Pilić's publications, and diminutives in Croatian language teaching will be described. The research will be conducted by analyzing diminutives in the following books: a youth novel Sasvim sam popubertetio, a collection of short stories Što cure govore? Što dečki govore?, a collection of short stories for children and youth Hej, želim ti nešto ispričati!, a youth novel Ideš mi na živce!, and a collection of stories for children Hoću i ja!. Firstly, in the thesis, each method of word formation will be explained in detail, emphasizing the suffixal way of word formation to enable a clear explanation and analysis of found diminutives, followed by an explanation of the concept of diminutives and their formation. All found diminutives will be numerically presented in the results, followed by a part of the research related to their connotative meaning. The results will show the number of diminutives, the prevalence of certain creative continuations and the connotative meaning of diminutives.
