Abstract
Ilok je grad duge i bogate povijesti. U njemu i oko njega zbivali su se mnogi događaji važni za povijest cijeloga kraja. Ime Ilok prvi put se spominje 1267. godine kao Wjlok, Wylhoc i Iwnlak. Najpoznatiji vlasnik Iloka bio je Nikola Iločki (1410. - 1477.), moćni hrvatsko-ugarski velikaš i pretendent na kraljevsku krunu, ban Hrvatske, Slavonije i Mačve, vojvoda od Transilvanije te kralj Bosne. U radu se prikazuju i opisuju važni povijesni događaji vezani za grad Ilok, a posebno njegove vladare, obuhvaćajući opis najvećeg, Nikole Iločkog, kako je zavladao Ilokom, koje je časti obnašao i kojim je krajevima vladao.
Abstract (english)
Ilok is a town with a long and rich history. In and around it occurred regularly, many important events in the history of the whole region. The name Ilok was first mentioned in 1267. as Wjlok, Wylhoc and Iwnlak. The most famous owner of Ilok was Nicholas of Ilok (1410th-1477th), a powerful Croatian-Hungarian aristocrat and pretender to the royal crown, ban Croatian, Slavonia and Mačva, duke of Transylvania and king of Bosnia. The paper presents and describes the important historical events related to the town of Ilok, and especially its rulers, including a description of the largest, Nicholas of Ilok, that reigned in Ilok, which honors and which the areas ruled.
