Abstract
Ovaj rad istražuje razlike u emocionalnoj kompetentnosti studenata učiteljskog studija kroz različite godine studija, analizirajući njihove samoprocjene emocionalnih vještina i profesionalnog razvoja. Uzorak je obuhvatio 137 studenata učiteljskog studija koji su ispunili anonimni upitnik. Rezultati pokazuju da studenti posjeduju visoku razinu emocionalne svijesti, regulacije i empatije, što su ključne komponente za buduće učitelje. Studenti su također pokazali sposobnost prepoznavanja i reagiranja na emocije drugih, kao i održavanja pozitivnog emocionalnog stanja unatoč negativnim situacijama. Profesionalni razvoj kroz plaćeni rad i volonterski angažman također je visoko zastupljen među studentima, što dodatno jača njihove kompetencije. Nalazi sugeriraju da integracija programa obuke usmjerenih na emocionalnu inteligenciju može značajno doprinijeti unapređenju emocionalnih vještina budućih učitelja. Ovi rezultati naglašavaju važnost kontinuiranog profesionalnog razvoja i emocionalne podrške u obrazovnim programima za učitelje, čime se doprinosi kvaliteti obrazovanja i dobrobiti učenika.
Abstract (english)
This paper investigates the differences in emotional competence among teacher education students across different years of study, analyzing their self-assessments of emotional skills and professional development. The sample included 137 teacher education students who completed an anonymous questionnaire. The results show that students possess a high level of emotional awareness, regulation, and empathy, which are key components for future teachers. Students also demonstrated the ability to recognize and respond to the emotions of others and to maintain a positive emotional state despite negative situations. Professional development through paid work and volunteer engagement is also highly prevalent among students, further strengthening their competencies. The findings suggest that the integration of training programs focused on emotional intelligence can significantly contribute to enhancing the emotional skills of future teachers. These results highlight the importance of continuous professional development and emotional support in educational programs for teachers, thereby contributing to the quality of education and the well-being of students.
