Abstract
Slikovnice su jedan od prvih kontakata koje djeca imaju s književnošću, kroz koje uče o svijetu oko sebe. Ove knjige oblikuju njihove stavove, razumijevanje različitosti i empatiju prema drugima. Stoga je od ključne važnosti da slikovnice uključuju raznolike likove, uključujući i djecu s poteškoćama pa tako i s tjelesnim invaliditetom, kako bi se osigurala reprezentacija svih članova društva. Takve priče ne samo da pomažu djeci s invaliditetom da se osjećaju prihvaćeno i viđeno, već i educiraju svu djecu o važnosti prihvaćanja i poštovanja različitosti. Slikovnice mogu biti snažno sredstvo za razbijanje predrasuda i promicanje inkluzivnosti od najranije dobi. Cilj završnog rada je istražiti i analizirati način na koji se djeca s tjelesnom invalidnosti prikazuju u slikovnicama. U ovom radu će se analizirati osam slikovnica u kojima su likovi suočeni s teškoćama. Fokus će biti na identificiranju različitih oblika tjelesne invalidnosti koji se pojavljuju u slikovnicama, analiziranju odnosa prema likovima koji imaju tjelesnu invalidnost te analiziranju načina na koji slikovnice prikazuju društvenu uključenost djece s tjelesnom invalidnosti.
Abstract (english)
Picture books are one of the first points of contact children have with literature, through which they learn about the world around them. These books shape their attitudes, understanding of diversity, and empathy towards others. Therefore, it is crucial that picture books include diverse characters, including children with various disabilities, such as physical disabilities, to ensure representation of all members of society. Such stories not only help children with disabilities feel accepted and seen, but also educate all children on the importance of acceptance and respect for diversity. Picture books can be a powerful tool for breaking down prejudices and promoting inclusivity from an early age. The aim of this thesis is to explore and analyze how children with physical disabilities are portrayed in picture books. This study will analyze 8 picture books featuring characters who face challenges. The focus will be on identifying the different forms of physical disabilities that appear in the picture books, examining the attitudes towards characters with physical disabilities, and analyzing how picture books depict the social inclusion of children with physical disabilities.
