This paper is focused on the importance and quality of carrying out leisure time activities with pupils with developmental disabilities. Leisure time is of great importance to all pupils, hence it is important to those pupils with developmental disabilities as well. Although, quality leisure time activities are not available to all pupils, especially to those with developmental disabilities. Their life often consists of everyday therapies, rehabilitation etc. and by that it is usually forgotten that they, too, have the right for free time activities and playing with their peers. Therefore, the aim of this research was to get an insight in the quality of carrying out leisure time activities with pupils with developmental disabilities. Quantitive methodology was used and data gathered when interviewing ten children with developmental disabilities. In the second part of the research, the Delphi method was conducted with five experts. The results show that children with developmental disabilities spend their leisure time by doing various activities. Their leisure time is usually well spent and they like to spend it with their family members. Furthermore, the results show that pupils with developmental disabilities are not included enough in extracurricular activities. The pupils with developmental disabilities had stated that they are satisfied with the way they spend their leisure time and that they do not wish to change it. In the second part of the research, the experts have agreed that the special notice is dedicated to education and leisure time of pupils with developmental disabilities, but their quality is not on the satisfactory level. These results point to the need of conducting courses about leisure time which would help not only the child, but the parents as well.
